Alexandre Julien Savérien, (1720 – 1805) was a French writer, philosopher and mathematician.

He with the Jesuits of Arles and was appointed Garde de l’étendard of Marseille in the Military Navy.

Attracted by the sciences at a very young age, he obtained a marine engineer certificate at the age of twenty. and became a professor in Paris at the age of twenty-two. In 1742 he composed a Discours sur la navigation et la physique expérimentale, and in 1751 Dictionnaire historique, théorique et pratique de la Marine, here presented in its first Italian edition

Conditions: Small scratches at spine, internally a very good copy, clean and with wide margins.
